Core Desire: To protect themselves (to be in control of their own lives and destiny)

Core Weakness: Excess/ Lust- intensity/control/power in order to get protection from injustice from the world

Core Longing: “You will not be betrayed”

Biblical Character: Miriam

Type Description:

Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive. Protective, resourceful, straight-talking, and decisive, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable. At their Best: self- mastering, they use their strength to improve others' lives, becoming heroic, magnanimous, and inspiring.

Movement of Arrows:

When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), self-confident Eights suddenly become secretive and fearful at Five. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), lustful, controlling Eights become more open-hearted and caring, like healthy Twos.

February 21, 2021

This week consider the following questions in light of how you would like to take the invitation to travel, intentionally, with Jesus on this Lenten Journey.

Reflection:

1)what is something that gives me comfort?

2) what is a distraction?

3) what is unnecessary?

4) what would I feel the absence of?

Practice:

Consider what the next season will look like for you as you walk with Jesus through Lent. Plan out anything you need to.
