TWO: The Helper

Core Fear: being unwanted, unworthy of being loved

Core Desire: to feel loved

Core Weakness: Pride

Core Longing: ”You are wanted and loved unconditionally”

Biblical Character: Mary, Mother of Jesus

Type Description:

Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.

Movement of Arrows:

When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), needy Twos suddenly become aggressive and dominating at Eight. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), prideful, self-deceptive Twos become more self-nurturing and emotionally aware, like healthy Fours.

February 21, 2021

This week consider the following questions in light of how you would like to take the invitation to travel, intentionally, with Jesus on this Lenten Journey.

Reflection:

1) what is something that gives me comfort?

2) what is a distraction?

3) what is unnecessary?

4) what would I feel the absence of?

Practice:

Consider what the next season will look like for you as you walk with Jesus through Lent. Plan out anything you need to.
